Sunset Cruise on Horsetooth Reservoir – In A Colorado Minute (Week 273)

Most Colorado sunsets are stunning – especially if seen from a lake
with the sky reflecting on the water. There’s nothing quite like a
sunset cruise, is there? So this week I’d like to share with you a
sunset cruise on Horsetooth Reservoir, near Fort Collins.

Lately, we’ve enjoyed several daytime and evening boat rides on our little boat “Slow Ride”, including one with Scott’s mother Ellie and her husband Jim, who were visiting from Florida.

The
video includes footage from one of the cruises with them and from last
night’s outing, which includes a lightning storm. There have been quite a
few rain clouds in unfortunate spots during this week’s sunsets – so I
didn’t get to capture exactly what I was looking for. When all
conditions were ideal and the light display blew me away, I didn’t have
my video camera with me – so I included just a photo of that sunset (and
Whiskey) at the end of this week’s Moving Postcard video.

But
I’ll keep going out on the boat and am sure to capture one of those
really big displays of colors, shapes and textures. And then I’ll just
post another video of an even better sunset cruise on Horsetooth
Reservoir!

The beautiful featured song is the instrumental version of “Amaranthine, You Fly” by Josh Woodward (JoshWoodward.com). This song is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 US License. Thank you, Josh!
